FAQ: Frequently asked questions
How much does a chartered accountant cost in Morocco?
Fees depend on the volume of accounting documents, the number of employees, the industry, and the scope of the engagement (full bookkeeping, supervision, payroll, legal). At CAE Experts, recurring engagements are billed as a fixed monthly fee, agreed upfront in an engagement letter, with no hidden costs.
What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a chartered accountant?
A bookkeeper records day-to-day transactions. A chartered accountant is a qualified professional registered with Morocco's Order of Chartered Accountants: only they are authorized to certify accounts, take professional responsibility for financial statements, and represent you before the tax authorities. They also play an advisory role in management, tax, and strategy.
Is a chartered accountant mandatory for a Moroccan company?
The law doesn't require the use of a chartered accountant for day-to-day bookkeeping. However, certain companies are required to appoint a statutory auditor (notably SAs, and SARLs exceeding 50 million dirhams in revenue), and financial statements must comply with Morocco's General Accounting Standards Code (CGNC). A firm registered with the Order ensures these obligations are met.
Can we outsource only payroll or tax?
Yes. Our engagements are modular: you can entrust us with just payroll management and CNSS filings, just your tax filings (corporate tax, VAT, income tax), or your entire accounting and finance function. The scope is defined precisely in the engagement letter.
We're here to clean up, clarify, and make your accounting reliable.
